Die Alpenoberkrainer (Slovenian: Alpski kvintet) was founded in 1966 in Kranj, where the quintet gave their first public concert. Shortly afterwards the ensemble received their first invitation to appear abroad, in the French region of Alsace. To date, the ensemble’s records have sold more than one million copies. In 1996, Die Alpenoberkrainer officially disbanded as a professional music band at a gala concert in Mengeš and currently appear unofficially.

Veseli dihurčki cultural association has been promoting metal music since 2002. The association organizes Dirty Skunks, the Smokehouse of Death cycle, participates in the Metaldays festival and organizes solo metal music concerts.
