The Society of Slovene Composers (DSS) is a voluntary professional association of composers and musicologists. the Society started out by organising public performances, but in 1954 widened its field of activity by including a publishing section (Edicije DSS) and establishing contacts with other European publishing houses.

The Association of Trade Unions of Slovenian Music Artists - ZSVGS

The Association of Trade Unions of Slovenian Music Artists – ZSVGS has been established with the mission of enforcing the rights of all Slovenian music artists and raising Slovenian music artists’ awareness of the advantages of collective representation and enforcement of trade-union rights of individuals as provided by ZSVGS, as well as creating the conditions for an undisturbed development and activity of all music artists or music industry participants.

The Department of Musicology of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana

The Department of Musicology is a unit of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana. It offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and doctoral research in Musicology. The study programme wishes to give the future musicologist a broad insight into basic problems of musicology. The Department of musicology successfully runs several research projects and since 1965 publishes the main Slovenian scientific musicological journal Musicological Annual.

The Institute of Ethnomusicology (GNI)

Today the main activities of the GNI, besides its regular research work and the publication of results, include the publication of primary and secondary collections of folk songs, the systematic publication of folk dances, the completion, storage and publication on cassette and compact disc of its outstanding archive, monitoring contemporary activities relating to music and dance traditions, and professional intervention in those areas where folklorism draws on the heritage of song, music and dance.

The Institute of Musicology

Institution

The Institute of Musicology (formed in 1972 and founded as an autonomous unit in 1980) is the only independent research group in the field of musicology in Slovenia. The basic activity of the researchers is the study of the musical heritage of the geographical area of today's Republic of Slovenia from the Middle Ages to the 20th century. Within the scope of the series Monumenta artis musicae Sloveniae, the Institute of Musicology prepares and publishes musical works by the authors who have worked in the area of today's Slovenia during various historical periods.

The Republic of Slovenia Public Fund for Cultural Activities (JSKD)

The Republic of Slovenia Public Fund for Cultural Activities (JSKD) is a public body covering all areas of non-professional (amateur) culture and art for all generations: vocal and instrumental music, theatre and puppetry, folklore, film and video, literature, fine arts and dance.
