Metalsteel

Artist

Metalsteel, the heavy metal band from Medvode, was established in 2001. The band collaborates with the American heavy metal vocalist James Rivera (Helstar, Malice, Seven Witches, Distant Thunder, Malice), who tours with the group every year in Europe. Metalsteel is also the first group of its kind to perform with a symphonic orchestra at a state event in Cankarjev dom, where they took part in the memorial ceremony dedicated to Slovenian victims of the Holocaust. Their music has also featured in a commercial for Toyota. Metalsteed are also the creators of the official anthem of the festival Metaldays 2015.

Metlika Castle

Venue

Continuing to be firmly embedded in the town’s cultural life, Metlika Castle has hosted a wide variety of cultural events over the recent years. The Castle’s courtyard plays host to a series of events organised under the title “Come to the Castle Tonight”, including theatre performances, poetry readings and other cultural events, as well as music concerts presented by Imago Sloveniae that feature top-class Slovenian and foreign performers. Metod Banko

Artist

Metod Banko is a Slovenian singer, guitarist, and composer. He began in children’s choirs and later performed with groups like APZ Tone Tomšič and the RTV Slovenia Chamber Choir. He spent a decade in musical theatre at Ljubljana City Theatre and contributed vocals to over 25 albums. He studied jazz/pop singing in Klagenfurt and guitar with Teo Collori. He performs with Teo Collori & Momento Cigano, Uršula Ramoveč & Fantje iz Jazbecove grape, and Mala mestna muzika.

Metulj Club

Mi2

Artist

Mi2 started as a small local band in 1995 in Rogatec. Slowly but surely it became recognized for its unique musical style. Initially a duo, the band is now composed of six members.

Mia Žnidarič

Artist

She got her first big opportunity to show her talent when the conductor Jože Privšek wrote three arrangements for her and arranged for her to appear with the RTV Slovenia Big Band. This was followed by her collaboration with a number of different musical bands of jazz provenance, among which the most important was founded and led by her husband and long-term collaborator – American pianist, composer, and arranger Steve Klink.

Miha Gantar trio

Sourcing ideas from the lineage of the visionaries of 20th-century music, the Miha Gantar trio describes itself as the next step in the development of the jazz trio format. Defined by its adventurous attitude to music-making, the group embraces the progressive ideals rooted in the history of jazz and modernism and seeks to push them forward, allowing new sonic realities to emerge with each performance. With a deeply personal approach to composition and sound, Gantar presents his vision of the trio of the future.

Miha Guštin - Gušti

Miha Guštin – Gušti is a Slovenian guitarist, songwriter, and composer, born in 1971 in Ljubljana. He began his music career with Big Foot Mama and later released his solo album Dolce Vita with Polona Kasal in 2002. He contributed to the soundtrack for the film Nika and the series Naša mala klinika. He is married to Chantal Van Mourik, and his son Kris plays in Joker Out. In 2024, he celebrated 40 years in music with a new album and a concert at Križanke.

Mihael Hrustelj

Artist

Mihael Hrustelj is one of Slovenia’s top guitar masters, blending classical guitar with jazz, progressive rock, and traditional music. His unique style and use of South Slavic heritage make him recognizable worldwide. After a decade in the Netherlands, where he studied at the Rotterdam Conservatory, he returned to Slovenia, drawing inspiration from its nature. He has released six solo albums and performed across Europe and Asia, including with the RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra.
