The Radovljica Festival has been held in the Medieval town of Radovljica each August since 1983. While reputed for its early music orientation, the festival has recently included rarely performed nineteenth- and twentieth-century works, frequently played on period instruments.

Sajeta Creative Camp

The Sajeta Creative Camp was launched in 1998 as the first festival organised in Tolmin’s Sotočje, a venue at the confluence of two rivers. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in early July 2019, the festival provides a platform for interaction among diverse creative practices and experiences of music as its main focus. The Sajeta’s programme thus features a variety of music genres, including electronica, jazz, rock, ethno and classical music, whose common link is experimentation and creativity.

Seviqc Brežice Festival

The Seviqc Brežice Festival has become the Slovenian synonym for early music. Since the establishment of the International Summer Academy for Early Music in the town of Radovljica in 1982, which stimulated a comprehensive development of early music in Slovenia and is regarded as its beginning, the festival has strengthened its reputation as an event of national importance. The Seviqc Brežice concert programme presents the wealth of the musical heritage of Europe and beyond, ranging from the Middle Ages to the beginning of the 20th century, using authentic period instruments and an historically informed approach.

The Skuštrane! in bradati! Festival (The Tousled and Bearded Festival) is held each September in the city of Maribor. Launched in 2017, the festival aims to draw attention to gender inequality on Maribor’s music scene.

Slovenian Flute Festival

The Slovenian Flute festival's main goal is to present a sneak peek into the creative interprative dimentions of well-rounded and acomplished flautists to younger generations of flute players. The biennial festival has been held at Zagorje ob Savi since 1996.

Slovenian Polka and Waltz Festival

The Slovenian Polka and Waltz is a music festival organised by the RTV Slovenia Entertainment Production and is held to be one of Slovenia’s most prestigious folk-pop music festivals. Launched in 1995, the event has since run annually, discontinuing only in 2013 and 2018.

Slowind Festival

The Slowind Chamber Music Festival is organised by the Slowind ensemble, a wind quintet composed of the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra soloists. Launched in 1999, the Slowind Festival is held each autumn in Ljubljana. The festival programme is regularly recorded and broadcast by Radio Slovenia and its concert recordings are played on international radio stations, including BBC 3, Dutch Radio and others.
