Since its relaunch in 2023, the competition has grown significantly. Last year, it received more than 300 applications from 50 countries, while over 60,000 visitors attended the event in Central Park.

The competition is open to musicians aged 16 to 35 working in jazz and adjacent genres. Organizers are currently inviting bands and ensembles from across Europe and beyond to apply for this year’s edition.

Among the main opportunities for selected artists:

• Free application with no participation fee

• 12 finalists will perform live in Central Park, Cluj-Napoca

• Each finalist receives a €1,000 participation fee

• Partial travel support for international bands (€1,000) and 3 nights of accommodation

• A total prize pool of €50,000

• 1st prize includes a performance at Jazz in the Park Festival 2027, a vinyl album, and a music video

• A separate Best Romanian Band Prize offers the same package

• All finalists receive feedback from an international jury

For many young bands, the competition offers exactly the kind of support needed at an early stage: an international platform, professional visibility, and concrete financial backing. Previous winners including Klawo (Poland), daoud (France), and JEMMA (Italy) have all used the competition as a springboard for further development.

The application deadline is 3 May 2026.

Artists, ensembles, conservatories, music schools, and organisations working with emerging musicians are encouraged to share the call and support young talent in applying.
