Slovenian Artist Urška Supej Selected as a Recipient of the Will Smith Emerging Artist Fund
Slovenian jazz guitarist and composer Urška Supej has been selected as one of 20 artists to receive support from the prestigious Will Smith Emerging Artist Fund.
The fund, created by The Supporting Act Foundation and Will Smith as part of his 2025 European tour, supports promising musicians working along the tour’s route.
Each selected artist will receive €5,000 to further their artistic development, create new work, and strengthen their career. The recipients represent a diverse range of musical genres and approaches — from opera singers, folk and soul musicians, to experimental producers — showcasing the impressive breadth and creativity of today’s international music scene.
In announcing the recipients, Will Smith shared: “I loved teaming up with the Supporting Act Foundation to create the Will Smith Emerging Artists Fund. The selected artists represent true passion — they’re putting in the work and using music to make people feel something real. The world needs their sound.”
The selection committee emphasized that choosing only 20 artists from such a pool of talent was challenging but rewarding, as the fund provides vital support for creators who are often underrepresented in the music industry.
Congratulations to Urška Supej on this international recognition and significant support for the continued growth of her artistic journey!
