The original music of Brencl Banda stems from the artists’ fascination with the world’s folk heritage. It reflects a predominant Slavic spirit and conveys an impression of being an intrinsic part of its legacy, as if modelled on the music transcriptions of age-old folk tunes found abandoned in an attic. The Brencl Banda was formed in Bistrica ob Sotli, a Slovenian settlement known for its rich musical tradition. Although featuring perfectly ordinary instruments and vocals the band’s sound is completely original. On their Slavic wings they fly across different musical traditions, whose myriad beats and melodies fuse into one single voice to sing about happiness, sadness and timelessness.
