Španski borci Culture Centre

Venue

Španski borci Culture Centre (Spanish Fighters) is one of Ljubljana’s main cultural institutions. The building – a post-war architectural gem – was designed by a leading post-war Slovenian architect, Oton Jugovec. It was built in 1981 and forms part of Slovenia’s twentieth-century architectural heritage. After its renovation in 2009, management of the quietly elegant building was taken over by the EN-KNAP Institute. The Španski borci Culture Centre offers rental spaces suitable for cultural, educational, social and other events. Location: Ljubljana

Venue

A tavern, cultural venue and meeting place for artists working in different genres. Špital za prjatle (An Almshouse for Friends) also hosts concerts. Location: Celje

Štala Recordings

Studio

A recording, tracking, mixing and writing facility located in a converted nineteenth-century barn re-designed in 2015 by renowned acoustic engineer Nenad Patkovič. The studio is run by musician and producer Rok Lopatič. Location: Cerklje ob Krki

Števerjan Folk-pop Music Festival

Festival

The Števerjan Folk-pop Music Festival was launched back in 1971. Each July, the event is held "under pine trees" in a village situated on the Italian side of the Brda region and mostly populated by a Slovenian community. It is organised by the Števerjan-based “Frančišek Borgia Sedej” Slovenian Catholic Cultural Society.

A student cultural event centre features several spaces: the main venue functions as a student café during the day and turns into an intimate (disco) club in the evenings, while Štuk’s concert hall boasts sophisticated sound system and stage lighting effects. Location: Maribor

Švicarija Creative Centre

Tracing its variegated history back to 1835, Švicarija served as a popular guesthouse, café and hotel, and a venue for a rich cultural and social life. Today, this tradition continues with the renovated Creative Centre whose special attraction is the magnificent view across the city from the beautiful setting of Tivoli Park gardens. Tabor Hall

Primarily a sports venue, Tabor Hall (Slovenian: Dvorana Tabor) also hosts large-scale pop-music concerts. Location: Maribor

Tabu

Artist

Tabu is a Slovenian pop-rock band formed in 1998. Their debut album was released in 2000, and they achieved recognition with hits such as "Dobra vila", "Angel" and "Poljubljena". The band has undergone several personnel changes over the years; in 2023, singer Eva Aljančič was joined by new vocalist Katarina Samobor. Tabu is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Gold and Platinum Record and the MTV Video Play Gold Award. Their music combines energetic pop-rock with introspective lyrics.

Tadej Droljc

Artist

Tadej Droljc is an interdisciplinary artist creating electronic music and computer-generated audiovisual works. He earned a PhD in audiovisual composition at the University of Huddersfield, where he also taught. He has received numerous awards, including the Edigma Semibreve and Lumen Prize Student Award, and has presented his work at major festivals like Ars Electronica, L.E.V., Semibreve, Cannes, Node, Sonica Glasgow, and Madatac.

Tadej Košir

Artist

Tadej Košir is a Slovenian guitarist, composer, and producer, known for collaborating with various musicians and bands on the local music scene. He studied jazz guitar at the conservatory in Klagenfurt. As a member of Muff and Raiven, he contributed as a songwriter. In 2020, during the pandemic, he launched his solo project Stalker, where he debuted as a lead vocalist. His project Electric Manners explores instrumental music, blending funk, jazz, and blues. He also plays guitar for Senidah.
