The building is a protected cultural, technical and historical monument. It is still owned by the company Elektro Ljubljana, which thoroughly renovated the building on its centenary anniversary. Artists discovered this interesting building during the 1980s and the 1990s and started to use it as a venue for different artistic expressions, including live music, i.e. concerts. The Police Orchestra developed out of the Godba ljudske milice, established in 1948. The orchestra regularly participates in protocol obligations, police ceremonies, public celebrations, charity events, international sports events, as well as solo gigs at home and abroad in cooperation with Ljubljana Musical Youth and the Slovenian Association of Bands.
