Jadranka Juras

Artist

Jadranka Juras is recognised opera singer, jazz and pop vocalist, who regularly performs on local festivals, opera houses, concert series and other events. She recorded two pop, r&b and soul albums (Anima, 2006; Sakura, 2009) and two jazz albums (Paris honey, 2016; You and I and The Music in collaboration with RTV Slovenia Big Band and jazz pianist Milan Stanisavljević, 2019). She is regular guest on many other albums and songs (Balladero, Okustični, Tibor Kerekeš etc.).

Jaka Berger

Artist

Over the past decade Jaka Berger has asserted himself as one of Slovenia’s most prolific, creative and versatile drummers, percussionists, composers and improvisers. As a percussionist, Berger is noted for his avant-garde and experimental approach to music and extending the boundaries of percussion and sound. His most recent projects include: Darla Smoking, DUF, Red moon. He is part of Clockwork Voltage collective.

Jaka Kopach

Jaka Kopač alias Jaka Kopach holds a master’s degree in saxophone. He has played with various combos and big bands and performed at numerous prestigious jazz festivals and prominent European clubs. He leads his own music projects/bands.

Jaka Mihelač

Artist

Baritone Jaka Mihelač is a laureate of numerous national and international singing competitions. He made his debut at the Slovenian National Theatre’s Opera and Ballet Ljubljana in 2018. Jaka Mihelač debuted to great success in a staged performance of Orff's Carmina Burana in 2017, produced and directed by Echo Classic award-winner Christoph Hagel. With this production Mihelač appeared in the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremberg and the Prinzregententheater in Munich. As a soloist he has sung with the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and all major Slovenian orchestras.

Jaka Stadler

Jaka Stadler (violoncello) studied with Prof. Ciril Skerjanec and later Prof. Wen-Sinn Yang in Munich. He won prizes at competitions like Antonio Janigro and Cittá di Stresa. As a soloist, he performed with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Ljubljana and the Zagreb Soloists. He played under Claudio Abbado, Mariss Jansons, and Lorin Maazel in renowned orchestras. From 2008 to 2010, he was principal cellist in Qatar, and in 2010, he joined the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks.

Jakomini Jazz Trio

Jakomini Jazz Trio is a musical group formed in 2020. The band consists of trumpeter Žan Cesar, bassist Jernej Vindšnurer and guitarist Tilen Gavranovič. With the desire to create music and original music together, they released their debut album called Searchin' in 2022, which they presented on tour in Slovenia, Croatia and Austria. They are currently performing regularly in Slovenia and abroad, and at the same time intensively preparing new material for the next self-titled album.

Jalla Jalla

Venue

Situated in the middle of Metelkova mesto, Jalla Jalla is a small congenial place run under a strong ethic of DIY principles. It is open almost every evening and as a rule, never has an entrance fee. It leads a varied, fairly laid back programme of regular DJ nights, art exhibitions, film screenings and occasional concerts. The programme is quite open and, if need be, can easily accommodate for ad hoc events. Location: Ljubljana

Jan Sever

Jan Sever is one of the most prominent pianists of his generation. He studied in Ljubljana and received numerous national and international awards during his studies. He is also the recipient of the student Prešeren award. In addition to his solo work, he also devoted a lot of attention to chamber music and collaborated with many of the most prominent Slovenian soloists. After his studies, he first worked as an accompanist at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet and the Academy of Music, and later continued as a piano professor at the Ljubljana Conservatory of Music and Ballet.

Jana Jocif

Music photography

Jana Jocif is a Slovenian photographer, graphic designer, architect, and jewelry maker specializing in Damascus steel. Trained as an architect, she focuses on photographing architecture and cultural heritage, emphasizing the preservation of historical buildings. Her exhibition Hidden Heritage at the Loški Museum highlighted abandoned buildings in Škofja Loka. She has worked as an official photographer at the Slovenian Wine Festival and the 20th anniversary of the Accentus choir in Paris. Her photographs have been published internationally.
